JLT Mobile Computers Inc. debuted the G-Force 850, a powerful, convenient, lightweight and ultra-tough tablet PC. It features a photograph quality, 8.4-inch (diagonal), poly-silicon display with 400 nits of backlighting for bright day applications. The highly portable unit weighs 3.5 pounds, yet operates for five hours (full operation) or eight hours (using power-saving feature) on a single battery charge, thanks to the low-consumption Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 (800 MHz) CPU. The batteries are hot swappable, allowing the user to change batteries while running applications. All forms of wireless and/or radio modem communications are supported via a PCMCIA 32bit Cardbus slot.
